Career Overview
Not everybody wants to manage recruitment teams. Your career
earnings as a Resourcer, Recruitment Consultant or Senior
Recruitment Consultant can be excellent, and many of our staff
choose to specialise in pure recruitment or resourcing. Managing
carries its own set of challenges, responsibilities and rewards.
Recruitment Managers are not necessarily the best recruiters -
although they may be - but they certainly have certain additional
skills and motivations.
Our career path for those who wish to manage recruitment teams
comprises Team Leaders, Section
Managers and Senior Managers, although
each of these roles varies greatly from the others, as you would
expect, with a substantial leap in seniority, accountability and
reward in each case.
In all cases, we welcome applicants with backgrounds in
structured KPI/sales environments who want to manage, motivate and
build teams of recruitment consultants. Demonstrable success in
identifying, mapping out and developing specific market sectors is
essential although for team leaders we welcome applications from
the right kind of highly driven, proven consultants who want to
take the next step in their management career.
Generally, these are hands-on billing roles where you are
expected to lead by example, but applicants must be skilled at
delegating to and motivating their teams, conducting appraisals,
pay reviews and personnel management. Departmental skills gap
analyses, identifying training and L&D needs for their teams
and ensuring they are addressed, calculating ratios and optimizing
efficiency throughout departments are all part of the regular
duties of recruitment managers at ARM.
Our managers are expected to be role models within and outside
of their own departments, encouraging their teams to see how they
fit within ARM’s overall business objectives. For example, they
should be "champions" and change agents, able to support our
marketing efforts and internal recruitment by helping to promote
company-level marketing and internal recruitment drives within
their teams.
If you're an entrepreneurial recruiter-manager waiting for the
next big opportunity to set up a business within a business, you'll
be pleased to know that we appreciate this attitude and welcome
speculative approaches from skilled recruitment professionals
wishing to open up a new desk. But we also have specific, existing
requirements for managers, as detailed below.
