We believe that ARM, as a company that deals in human capital,
should expedite its business in way that has a positive impact
ethically and socially - whether by contributing to local or
national charities, working with local education centres, or
attempting to minimise our carbon footprint.
A brief synopsis of our CSR and environmental policy is
below.
Environment
ARM is
ISO14001:2004 accredited. We are committed to
minimising the environmental impact of our business, not just
directly but also through our supply chain.
In managing our operations, we will:
- Comply with relevant existing environmental legislation
- Task our environmental working group to reduce the consumption
of resources and increase the efficiency of the use of these
resources at our site
- Promote awareness amongst our staff of the environmental impact
of travel and the importance, where possible, of car sharing or
alternative means of travel
- In conjunction with Fasset our landlord, endeavour to recycle
waste: in particular, paper, cardboard, metal, plastic and
glass
- Ensure environmental criteria are taken into account in the
procurement of goods and services as part of our commitment towards
corporate responsibility in the supply chain
- Strive to continuously improve our environmental
performance
To secure these objectives, we will:
- Annually review our performance (sponsor: the ARM Quality
Manager)
- Work with Fasset and other LTP tenants to encourage common
approaches when relevant to ARM or the tenant community
- Meet regularly to monitor the progress of current green
initiatives, suggest new actions and share knowledge about new
opportunities, legislation, and ideas (sponsor: The ARM
Environmental working group).
- Promote awareness amongst our staff of environmental
initiatives that ARM (and they as individuals) can become involved
with
- Encourage appropriate consideration of environmental issues in
the professional services we provide to our clients
Local Education
ARM is committed to acting as a resource for local
education centres and as such should be prepared to provide advice,
training, and guidance within its catchment area where possible and
when resources and time permit. In addition to this we will
endeavour to provide work experience opportunities for a small
number of students per year, time and resources permitting.
Charities and fund raising
The social committee at ARM will ensure that the
organisation is committed to raising funds for charity and will
select, by organisational vote, four charities per annum
(one per quarter) that will receive the proceeds of our
various fundraising efforts.
