If you are interested in
beginning a career in recruitment – whether as a career change or
the start of your career - but aren’t sure how to break into it,
ARM is a great place to begin: not least because it’s also a great
place to remain.
We have found that we can successfully recruit professionals
from other industries and graduates from a variety of backgrounds,
providing they possess the right core skills that we can develop.
This is largely down to the comprehensive induction and learning
and development programme that we have established.
Of course, we are delighted to take on skilled recruitment
consultants. However, we do not restrict ourselves to hiring people
from specific backgrounds – it’s the skills, attributes and
character that we look for. Certain professional backgrounds tend
to prepare people well for recruitment – sales of any kind, account
management and customer service, plus any of the industries for
which we recruit, such as IT and Engineering, but this list is far
from exhaustive. We have hired graduates from a variety of
disciplines including business and marketing, languages, IT, and
more.

New to recruitment or just new to ARM?
We do not feel it is necessary to have a specific graduate
intake program because the training, leaning and development and
mentoring that any new member of staff receives at ARM is aligned
to ensure it is relevant to their needs.
However, we do occasionally take on local students, including
mature students, on work experience placements. We deal with this
on our Work
Experience page.
To this end, we have two different induction programmes. One is
geared towards people new to recruitment, the other towards
established recruiters. Both ensure that our employees begin their
career at ARM able to promote the ARM brand and ready to practice
our professional, honest, and transparent style of recruitment or
support.
New staff benefit from a great deal of support and development
through a mixture of our L&D Manager, their direct Manager,
their Head of Division, HR, relevant experts within the
organization and, where a training need has been identified,
external trainers. We also have a “buddy” system: new employees are
allocated a mentor who will help them through their first few weeks
here.
We’re very proud of the induction and support programme we have
developed, and we receive overwhelmingly positive feedback about
their induction period from people new to the company.
