What's life at ARM really like?
We want to give you a bit of an insight into the daily
machinations of the company: not a sexed-up bit of PR, but an
actual slice of life from a broad base of our staff, as written by
them.
We haven’t necessarily chosen "superstar performers" (although
we’re proud of all our staff and yes, lots of the people below do
very well) or those people you can always rely on to say the right
thing. Indeed, if some people seem to load on the enthusiasm with a
trowel and others less so, well, that’s people for you, isn’t it?
In truth, this is a randomly-chosen group of ARM staff writing
honestly and without edit.
Anyway, here we go, we hope you find this useful:

Section Manager, Marketing & Proposals
One of the best things about marketing is that there is no such
thing as a typical day. I work as long as I need to - you can't be

Resourcer, IT
I get in nice and early to check my mountain of emails - this
will include all advert responses, tasks to be done and things to
catch up on from the day before. (The early bird catches the
worm!). Our team usually then has a meeting to discuss the agenda
for the day and the week and any issues that we may have...

Full Lifecycle Consultant, Engineering
I have previously worked in pure Sales roles in other companies and
I found them hard after a time as I was doing the same thing day in
and day out. Working at ARM I can honestly say that I jump out of
bed most mornings (perhaps with the exception of some Mondays) and
look forward to being in the office....

Resourcing Partner - Major Master Vendor Client
I’m a bit of an early bird and like to get into the office at
around 7:30am so that I can check through emails, get myself and
the rest of the team a nice cup of tea and make sure I am ready for
the day ahead. There are usually a few regular early starters at
their desks by then and the office slowly hots up until the audible
buzz, that lasts the whole day, is in full swing by 8:30am.....

Social Media Executive
I usually arrive to work early to allow time to catch up on news
and developments within the ‘online’ space, and also to catch up on
and prioritise an ever increasing barrage of emails that find their
way to my inbox. If there are articles that present an opportunity
towards my objectives and remit I will bookmark these for actioning
later in the day....
