I would like to set the scene so that you, as a visitor to our site, can understand more about what it is like to work at ARM.

 

I thought I’d start by briefly talking about my experience of Advanced Resource Managers prior to joining the company. I’m certainly qualified to: I have been on the receiving end of their service as a client!

 

Why, of all the numerous recruitment specialists and agencies that contacted me (or tried to) in my capacity as an HR Manager, did ARM remain one of my successful suppliers? Quite simply, it was their professionalism, coupled with a personal approach. They worked with me in partnership as their client, and I see that on a daily basis now I am here.

 

Since joining ARM I have seen the services expand, and we have continued to invest in our people, which will remain as part of our strategy.  Why do I enjoy working here? It is very much a status-free environment which is exactly how Paul Huntingdon established the business in 1996. He established a culture where people are encouraged to be individuals and to contribute creatively to the growth of the business. ARM sustains this culture by encouraging entrepreneurialism, and by acting on the creative contributions of its employees where possible, effective and sensible.

 

An observation we often hear repeated in feedback sessions with new starters is what a friendly bunch of people we have working here. We are very conscientious about recruiting people who will fit in, and very aware of when people may not. That is why we use a variety of techniques during the recruitment process. This is to ensure that the people who are successful suit the role, the team, and the team dynamics. Personality counts!

 

If you were to look at the entire company as one large team – and we do – we’re a team with a “can-do” attitude. Individuals who don’t dwell on negatives, who learn from mistakes and who move on to the next task and a fresh new day, will always do well here. The senior management team are great advocates of a pat on the back, providing reassurances when things are not going to plan, and of course, having a laugh along the way.

 

Within the HR team, we believe we make a difference by ensuring the HR business processes are aligned with the company’s goals. Personally, I strongly believe in the business, its work ethic and objectives. I am always promoting the good name of Advanced Resource Managers, but (and there is a but) I never, and we should never, become complacent. We all practice what we preach here: for example, I look always to continually improve the service that HR provides to our colleagues.

 

We have a creative business environment and one that thrives on challenges, on being challenged. There is so much opportunity to develop yourself and your career at ARM, and we all influence each other by supporting, encouraging, and celebrating achievements.

 

I once wrote an article saying that I would definitely welcome clients to “see for themselves” the professionalism and irrefutable vibe we have here at our offices. It is a testament to this company that not only did I write this in total confidence of the result should people decide to take me up on the offer, but also that I wrote it out of a real sense of pride.
